Victoria Falls rainforest viewpoints

Victoria Falls

Explore authorised viewpoints and rainforest paths. Confirm current park access and water levels; stay back from cliff edges and slippery rocks. No swimming or adventure activity is suggested. Zimparks describes the Zimbabwean rainforest visitor area, distinct from Zambia's viewpoints and from a river swim or adventure package. Seasonal flow/spray can change both views and slippery paths; use approved routes and stay behind barriers. The authority's 2026 tariff PDF was fetched, replacing old 2025 leads, but its extracted category/child headers are scrambled, so no exact gate price or total is certified from that text. Check the actual main-gate/VIP/moonlight product, nationality/residency, child rules, validity, vehicle/guide charges and payment directly before a future date. Night/moonlight access is a separate product, not a daytime entitlement. No current path opening, full view of all channels, cross-border visa, swimming, gorge/cliff activity or insured adventure is guaranteed. The park page is not today's water/structural safety report.

Great Zimbabwe heritage

Near Masvingo

Research the dry-stone city and its history with an authorised visit. Confirm tickets, guide arrangements, heat and permitted paths; do not climb protected walls. UNESCO's 1986 inscription explains the dry-stone city's Hill, Great Enclosure and Valley components as evidence of a major medieval Shona settlement and trading connections. Examine construction and social landscape rather than adopt outdated colonial myths about foreign builders. The NMMZ monuments page is an official inventory, but its 08:00–16:30 header concerns the Harare office, not proof of Great Zimbabwe's hours. No current site tariff, guide, ticket inclusion or individual structure access was verified. Inscription/management plans do not certify restored or safe walls today. Use authorised paths and guides, avoid climbing/handling protected masonry or entering private/sacred spaces. Confirm actual gate, heat/weather, access, camera rules and tickets nearer travel; no archaeological excavation or shortcut circuit proposed.

Khami Ruins heritage

Near Bulawayo

Research the stone terraces and archaeological heritage. Confirm visitor access, guiding and safe paths; do not disturb remains. UNESCO dates inscription to 1986 and interprets a successor political centre after Great Zimbabwe, with terraced stone platforms, decorative walling and evidence of wide trade. The distinction between terrace retaining walls and freestanding Great Zimbabwe walls makes a useful study theme, without treating all excavated remains as untouched or intact. Its old conservation/integrity account is not a current structure/path report. No admission price, guiding entitlement, open room, protected-object handling or site schedule was verified. Ask the actual custodian about safe paths, cameras and cultural protocols; do not climb walls, disturb finds or enter closed areas. Nearby Bulawayo is a transport anchor, not proof an improvised rural route is safe. An official heritage record establishes significance, not blanket access or a private collection visit.

Hwange wildlife viewing

Western Zimbabwe

Plan wildlife viewing with a trained licensed operator. Confirm permits, access, water and transport; follow park rules and keep distance from animals. Zimparks' own park account is the primary landscape/wildlife lead, not a guarantee of elephants, lions, waterhole activity or an available camp. Choose the actual gate/sector, licensed vehicle/operator, guide, permits and seasonal roads before pricing. Drives, walking, camping and platforms have different safety/access conditions and charges. The fetched 2026 authority tariff is the current dated lead, but scrambled extracted headings prevent a precise category total here; do not substitute an old 2025/secondary dollar figure. Confirm resident/international/child, vehicle and activity components with the operator. Keep distance from unpredictable animals and follow staff instructions; no independent night drive or walk, waterhole approach, animal handling or safe off-road route is promised. Check fuel, water, communications, rescue, insurance and cancellation for the date.

Matobo rock art and scenery

Near Bulawayo

Research rock formations and protected cave paintings with an authorised guide. Confirm routes, fitness and access; do not touch paintings or approach wildlife. UNESCO's 2003 Matobo Hills inscription interprets granite formations, rock art and a living cultural/religious landscape; it is broader than one national-park entrance or viewpoint. Zimparks' park page does not grant access to every cave, shrine, grave or private/community site. Ask for the actual protected-art route and trained guide, fitness/weather and local permission, and do not touch, wet, chalk or photograph restricted paintings. Wildlife and sacred-space protocols are separate from geology viewing. The 2026 tariff PDF is linked as an authority check, not a verified combined park/monument/guide quote because table headers extract poorly. No cave entry, climb, rhino approach, ceremony, grave ticket or restoration condition is guaranteed. Avoid adding an unmarked panorama or private crossing based on old guide descriptions.

Mana Pools landscapes

Zambezi Valley

Research floodplain wildlife with an experienced licensed guide. Confirm permits and seasonal roads; walking and canoe safaris need separate safety and insurance checks. UNESCO inscribed Mana Pools with Sapi and Chewore in 1984: this wider property is not a single public campground pass or Zimbabwe/Zambia cross-border entitlement. Its river erosion/deposition, former channels and seasonal animal movements explain the floodplain; historical counts and rhino-loss history are not current sightings or ecological clearance. Zimparks' park page is a lead, not current road, canoe or walking permission. Select licensed guide/operator, gate/landing, permits, seasonal access, rescue, equipment and insurance; hippos/crocodiles/large animals can be fatal. No independent river launch, swimming, animal approach or walk is proposed. Verify the 2026 tariff's actual resident/international/child, vehicle, activity and camp components directly; extraction does not yield a safely certified total. Property designation and scenery do not establish safe departures or medical evacuation.

Nyanga highland scenery

Eastern Highlands

Research mountain and waterfall scenery with an authorised guide. Confirm weather, permits, fitness and safe viewpoints; no unmarked summit route is implied. The official park account replaces reliance on an old secondary destination guide. Highlands, waterfalls and archaeological scenery call for choosing an actual authorised site, fitness level, guide and weather, not an assumed summit itinerary or harmless cliff panorama. Old Wikivoyage unmarked paths, transfer fares, fishing permissions or camp figures are not adopted as current route/access rules. Check park/landowner consent, signed paths, slippery edges, storms and whether guides/activities are mandatory; no swimming or unmarked summit climb is included. The 2026 Zimparks tariff is a dated fee lead, but no precise combined entrance/vehicle/activity price is certified from scrambled headers. Private attractions may charge separately. Confirm current roads, communications, equipment, rescue and insurance before any highland visit; altitude does not establish safe weather or unlimited historic-site entry.

National Gallery of Art

Harare

Research Zimbabwean art collections and exhibitions. Confirm current opening, tickets and safe transport; follow local photography restrictions. The gallery operator identifies 20 Julius Nyerere Way/Park Lane, Harare and posts daily 09:00–16:30 except public holidays. Its undated list distinguishes local resident adult/child $2/$1, African resident $5/$2 and international non-African $15/$5, not a blanket $2 tourist ticket. The page uses dollar signs without explicitly labelling currency, so confirm currency, payment, child/residency proof and any extra exhibit/guide cost rather than treat it as a USD/future-year guarantee. Group/school products require separate arrangements; no particular artwork, contemporary artist, workshop or private archive is promised. Recheck the actual exhibition, accessibility and camera rules. Use trusted transport; promotional kombi/walking directions do not resolve current city/security conditions or permission to photograph nearby sensitive sites.
